My name is Daryn.

This is my writing journal.

(liekomgwtf anotherwannabeauthorpoetemobrat?!)

Not remotely. Ever heard of art therapy? Writing is my art therapy.

(As Shale Aaron once wrote, 'The soles of my shoes have souls.' Then again, he wrote about necrophilia and midgets and lounge singers and people named Blu Fen.)

I've been meaning to make a writing journal for ages, but never got around to it. So why the change? Why now, well into the first term of college, when I'm dizzy and busy and breathless, do I start another journal, aside from my many blogs scattered over the internet?

(Well, partially just to claim this screenname.)

Because of National Novel Writing Month. Go on, go join. It doesn't hurt, and potentially offers a world of help.

But because writing for a goal is a more intimate process than slapping down a three-page essay to the history teacher you can't stand because he has a lazy eye so he always seems to be looking through you, this will be a friends-only journal. If for some inconceivable reason, you want to be added to my friends list, then go right ahead; I don't, however, want uninterested passerbys reading anything and everything I write without bothering to even drop me a hello in a comment thread.

So go on. Say hi. What are you waiting for?

Observation Journal entry #1 )

Postscript:
If you're not planning to actually read this journal, then please don't bother leaving a comment. This isn't a simple personal blog by which you can claim another user for your ever-growing trophy cabinet of LJ Friends.
